Meet The Face Behind Gary B Coleman CPA

I’m Scott Gray, proud owner of Gray Financial Solutions, Inc.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I grew up in Moravia, Iowa and ventured into the accounting field as I like helping those who may not have the "accounting gene". I have an entrepreneurial spirit and relate to others with this spirit. I also want to see small businesses succeed and I know I can help them.

Helping small businesses succeed is what I really enjoy and I want clients to feel that outsourcing their accounting to us allows them to use that time to focus on their business. I also enjoy meeting with the owners of the businesses to communicate their results and to stay on top of what is important to them.

I've been a CPA since 1997 and have been in the corporate world for twenty years. I purchased Gray Financial Solutions, Inc in January 2016 and at my firm we do income tax preparation for individuals, trusts and estates, and businesses. We also provide bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax services for businesses.

As the owner, my responsibilities are to ensure our clients' returns, reports, or filings are completed accurately and in a timely manner. I am here to answer any questions our clients may have related to taxes and how they impact them. I work with them to ensure their taxes are as low as possible while maintaining legal and ethical standards as I want my business clients to be successful in meeting their financial goals.

I attribute my success to my ability to utilize the talents and gifts God has given me, working hard and always keeping my eyes open to opportunities. My leadership, communication, and sales skills have also played a major role in my success.

When it comes to my style of management, I’ve had a couple of managers that had an impact on my leadership style. One was very controlling and restrictive. The other did not micro-manage and gave me the flexibility to work on projects where I thought would save the company money. I decided I was not going to be like the first manager, but be flexible like the second manager.

While I am really proud of what I do, I admire any company that works to improve their processes and focuses on the customer. A few years ago I read a book titled “The Toyota Way”. I admire the process improvement aspects of their company. I too have done process improvement that saved hundreds of thousands of dollars for the company I worked for.

When I am not at work, I enjoy riding my bike, playing basketball, golfing, traveling, and reading. I also crochet. As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my trust, this includes admitting mistakes when I make them. I believe in having fun and enjoying what you do and also have a bias for action and a passion for results.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our expertise in accounting and tax services, I invite you to get in touch. Please visit our website at www.garybcolemancpa.com.

Sincerely,

Scott Gray
